UNDER 21s BBQ

General NewsThis Sunday our Under 21s are playing at Doyalson. The game starts at 10am. The canteen will be open and we will also be providing a barbeque. Come along and support the boys!!

12As Round 5 Day 2

JuniorsThe 12As go into the Xmas break with 2 wins, 2 losses and a Draw after a convincing win over Woy Woy on Saturday. Batting first we added 58 runs off 20 overs before declaring at9/126. Bailey King was solid, scoring 27, Aaron Stevenson knocked a quick 10 and Jaiden Stewart remained 11 no. Woy Woy needed to score 84 to win, with 3 wickets in hand but fell well short being allout for 85 after 42.1 overs. The bowlers were mostly tight with little runs being scored off the bat. Matt Power's efforts behind the stumps this season have been awesome, with very few byes being given. A good finish to the 08 part and hopefully the team carries its form into next year. Also a big thank you to the Woy Woy team who provided a bbq on the day. Good to see the game being played both on and off the field in good spirit!

HARVEY NORMAN BBQ

General NewsWe did such a good job yesterday at Bunnings that Harvey Norman are having a late night shopping promotion and have asked us to do a similar BBQ this Tuesday night also at Lake Haven from 5 30pm - 9 30pm. If anyone is free please ring Bill Dolby or Greg Aitchison today or just turn up when you can. We especially need helpers to set up about 5pm and then the first 2 hours. Thanks so much to Bill Dolby for organising and to Joan, Albert, Duncan, Jodey, Matt, Theresa, Liz, Andrew, Kaylene, Reece, Leanne and Michael for giving up your time, raising over $500 for Doylo. Great work!

TRUE DOYLO SPIRIT

General NewsThe Doyalson-Wyee 16A Team showed great Club spirit yesterday at Paul Oval. We were promoted from B Division last year and went into the round 2 and 2, which in itself is a great achievement so far. Our opponents Terrigal are currently in 2nd place and are considered one of the competition favourites. We had two unexpected dropouts at the last minute and took the field with only 9 players, one of whom was suffering with a painful heel injury. We all know how hot it was. The boys to a man put in a terrific effort and kept the pressure on throughout on a small ground. We took 9 wickets and had another 9 chances which were mostly great efforts moreso than missed chances. Every one bowled and bowled well, and some of the fielding and catching was superb, as we restricted them to a gettable 162 runs The boys lay exhausted at stumps after a wonderful effort under the circumstances. The Terrigal Coach who happens to be the Junior District President was full of praise for Doylo. This type of effort gives our Club a great reputation. The Club, Coach, Manager and Parents are very proud of you, fellas! Go Doylo!

TERRY WALTERS AND PETER FOSTER

General NewsIt is with regret and sadness that we report the passing of two of our foundation members through the week.
Terry Walters was our first First Grade Captain and Peter Foster was a foundation member and driving force on the original Junior Committee. Our sympathies go to Terry and Peter's families. Both men would be proud of how the Club has progressed over the years.

NETS

General NewsDue to safety and legal reasons the RSL, who own all the grounds and nets area, have asked us that if any player excessively hits balls out of the nets that he be removed. Any Club official or RSL staff member can enforce this rule.

CHRISTMAS PARTY!

General NewsWe are holding our Christmas Party on Sunday 14th December from 10am - 3pm on the Doylo fields, weather permitting. There will be cricket games and other activities as well as a sausage sizzle. Santa has agreed to come along and give out lollies. Come along and have fun!

DREW LAWTHER CHARITY DAY

General NewsThis Sunday 7th December from 9am - 1pm at Budgewoi Soccer Club there is a charity day for Drew Lawther, younger brother of our junior cricketers Kyle and Kurt. Drew was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is so far responding well to treatment. There will be activities such as jumping castles and we believe entry is by gold coin donation. We all wish the Lawther family well and we offer our assistance in any way and at any time.
